The basic data platform under the charge of the Inspur Tiansuo K1 System realizes the deployment solution with heterogeneous architectures and reciprocal backup. As the terminal device for the communication between database server and application server as well as the connection between the application layer and the branches of the bank, it deploys the solution into the whole system.
The Bank of Dalian is a local joint stock commercial bank in Dalian whose investors include the government, legal persons and individuals. By far, the Bank of Dalian is the only city commercial bank that has branches in all of the four municipalities. It has nearly 5,000 staff members. There are 27 departments in the head office, 4 central branches, 8 branches, and over 130 business offices. By the end of 2012, the bank’s total assets reached 250.6 billion yuan; the balance of general deposits 174.7 billion yuan and that of loans 101.6 billion yuan. In the list of top 1 thousand banks in the world published by The Banker, a British magazine, in July, 2012, the Bank of Dalian occupied the 468th position worldwide and the 39th position in China.
The basic data platform’s ODS system is the center of the bank’s information system architecture, the bridge between various systems, and the key engine for the governance, management and analysis of data. By integrating data from various application systems, the ODS system is able to process and distribute business data in a unified manner. In addition, based on information models, the system arranges and gathers data from all systems by theme so as to meet the data requirements of different application systems and layers. Meanwhile, with the latest information technologies and in order to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the bank’s data processing as well as to ensure that basic devices can be easily extended in the future, the Bank of Dalian proposes to build the ODS system for the basic data platform.
The bank’s ODS system involves 17 systems including core systems and the credit system. About 10G data is processed a day, with a maximum of 12.5G a day. The average data service a day reached 20G, with a maximum of 36.5G. Batch processing takes an average of 7.5 hours a day, with a maximum of 10 hours. There are 1,940 entity-relationship diagrams, about 0.925T.
Deployment Solution for the ODS System of the Bank’s Basic Data Platform
The ODS system of the basic data platform of the Bank of Dalian is responsible for gathering, integrating, connecting, and caching data. In involves production systems like the core system and the credit system. At the same time, it also processes data and provides data for such decision management systems as individual CRM and financial statistics. The decision management system includes the following nine items: individual wealth, individual CRM, performance assessment, 1104, the comprehensive report system, corporate CRM, financial statistics, anti-laundering, and ALM&FTP. The production system consists of the following operations: the core business, credits, international settlements, personal loans, online banking, verification, bills, the general ledger, IC cards, mobile banking, and individual CRM.

It also realizes a deployment solution with the reciprocal backup of heterogeneous architectures. As the terminal device for the communication between database server and application server as well as the connection between the application layer and the branches of the bank, it deploys the solution into the whole system.
In the project, one Inspur Tiansuo K1 system is provided. The system and the old minicomputers produced by foreign manufacturers will back up each other and build Oracle Rac, and the OLTP capacity can reach 2 million, which is sufficient to satisfy the customer’s requirements for the performance of the database. Besides, the system also leaves enough space for future expansions.
It is the first time that domestic key application mainframes have been used in the core application of a regional commercial bank, taking charge of the bank’s key business. The project provides strong support and reassurance for the information construction of the Bank of Dalian.
